As of today, there are 50 copies of FOGLAND available for sale. This is the last of FOGLAND as we know it. When they are gone, they are gone forever!

Now, don't get anxious. FOGLAND will be re-issued in July 2008 digitally remastered in honor of its 10 year anniversary. The current plan is to have a limited supply of signed and numbered of the remastered FOGLAND at that time.

Richard will be playing Thursdays thru Saturday nights at the Olive Branch Restaurant (www.olivebranchatthelake.com) in Gravois Mills, MO. This fine restaurant is located about 12 miles north of the toll bridge over the Lake of the Ozarks on State Route 5.

Richard will be playing a combination of his music plus music from other composers as well. Performing time is from 6-9 PM each night.

SURVIVING KATRINA and the aftermath

Yes indeed, I survived Katrina and the rising waters in New Orleans. I left four days after the storm. There really wasn't any options -- no running water, no electricity, eventually no food -- and no sign of letting up for quite a long time. So I made my way to St. Louis where my immediate family is.

A more detailed version of my adventure will be put on the website in a few days.

As to what is next? Where? Both are very good questions. As soon as I figure that out, I will let everyone know. For now, I am just waiting to get back to New Orleans to finish packing up and clearing out my apartment.

There have been many, many offers to assist me. Again, let me sort through what I have been through and what I need. Then I will let everyone know my needs and if they can help, they will be graciously allowed to.

CHRISTMAS TOUR 2005 UPDATE

To date, the holiday tour will have stops in Lincoln NE, Ames IA, St. Louis, and tentatively in Decatur IL. Any additional tour dates will be announced when confirmed.

CHRISTMASTIDE update

Richard's third holiday album, CHRISTMASTIDE, is now entering the mastering stage. A cover is already completed and available for viewing in the music pages section of the website.

Sound bytes will be available on the website by August 5.

CHRISTMASTIDE will be available by September 1.

WEBSITE UPDATES

The website is slowly but surely getting revised. There are many photos to be added to the photo catalog. Anyone who might have a good picture and would like it to be included, feel free to send it via email as a JPEG. Any photos used will be given proper credit for the photographer.

Each week a new page is either added or an existing page is revised. This week a new page has been added -- Richard & Unity -- giving some background info to Unity Churches wanting to bring Richard in to perform.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY SALE

All CDs are on sale. Christmas Fireside and Crystalline Christmas are on sale 50% off at $7.50 each. All other CDs are $10 each. Currently Fogland and Momente Intimate are out of stock.

The sale will run through August 10.

AT HEAVEN'S EDGE HAS ARRIVED FROM THE DUPLICATOR

Special pricing will be announced next weekend -- the special sale will start on March 1 and run thru March 8. In the meantime, At Heaven's Edge will be available for $15 until then.

The complete soundbytes will be up for about another 2 weeks and then all tracks will be reduced to 2 minutes each.

RICHARD PERFORMING AT BENEDICTINE COLLEGE in ATCHISON KS @ 7:30 PM February 22.

Almost 25 years ago, Richard first stepped onto the Benedictine College campus as a member of the basketball program and an accounting major. He returns to BC on February 22 at 7:30 PM for a concert in the O'Malley-McAllister Auditorium.

There is free admission to the concert, sponsored by Benedictine's Convocation Arts Committee. The following day Richard will be visiting business classes to talk about his life of balancing the artist and the business demands of the music industry.

AT HEAVEN'S EDGE UPDATE

The anticipated arrival of AT HEAVEN'S EDGE is next Friday -- nothing is in stone yet, but I am very hopeful. The cover and full sound bytes of some of the tracks are on the music pages link.

There will be a special announcement coming out next weekend with the special introductory pricing for AT HEAVEN'S EDGE. The sooner you order, the more savings you will have --- ONCE they are available.

Complete sections of the tracks on AT HEAVEN'S EDGE are now available via streaming from the website! Extended sound bytes from each of the four compositions are available.

This sound will be new to many of the fans of Richard's music. IF you should happen not to like this type of music -- DO NOT WORRY -- Richard has not abandoned the instrument he is most at home with, the piano.

Take some time to listen to the new music --- early orders will start after the 1st of the year -- the official release date is scheduled for late March -- CDs should be available from the website before the end of January.

LEGAL DIGITAL DOWNLOADS NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Legal downloads of Richard's music are now available on numerous music websites. All of the websites have individual tracks as well as complete albums available for a reasonable fee. There are links to the specific albums on the "digital distribution" page. As the links are collected from the various websites, we will add them, making it just a bit easier to get Richard's music online. Even the out of print "Through the Mind's Eye" is becoming available at many of the sites. Here is your chance to fill out your collection of Richard's music.

Check out any of the music downloading services, chances are Richard's music is there. Even our European friends should be seeing the music via Loudeye (Europe's biggest online music site). Let us know where you are getting the music from -- it will help us in our monitoring and letting us know which sites are being seen by others as well.

"MOMENTE INTIMATE" UPDATE

We now have 30 copies of Momente Intimate available for sale through the website. This small supply will disappear quickly, don't hesitate to get it while the supply is available. At this point, we are not certain if we will have the new stock of it before the beginning of 2005.

"AT HEAVEN'S EDGE" UPDATE

The long wait for "At Heaven's Edge" is soon to be over. The outstanding graphics are soon to be adjusted and then everything will be ready for duplication.

By November 20, streaming sample tracks will be available for listening on the website. The page for "At Heaven's Edge" will be up at that time.

Advanced orders will be available once a determination of the arrival from the duplicating plant has been given. I fully anticipate having it available for the holiday season.

"INCANTATIONS" UPDATE

This recording project with Native American Flutist Bradford Smith is moving forward again. This week we should finish recording the music. The energy of this project is one of a healing or reflective nature. Brad and I are quite excited about the eventual final product. The process of creating is very similar to the process I always use in the studio -- free improvisation, capturing the spirit of the moment. Adding the numerous flutes Brad has only adds another sound quality and dimension that enhances the music.

We are anticipating a Spring 2005 release date.

We are looking for some photos of the Southwestern US region that might be suitable for a cover. If anyone has something that might work, please feel free to contact me. Artwork will be decided by early January.

DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION OF RICHARD'S MUSIC
All of Richard's music is now available for digital downloading are various locations (roughly 20-25) on the web (thanks to CDBaby.com). Very soon all the links will appear on my music pages. Many of the digital music companies do not list my music -- you will need to specifically search for Richard Carr. I haven't visited any of the sites yet so I really cannot tell you anything else about it.

What I can tell you is that we remastered Through the Mind's Eye, which has been unavailable for almost a year now can be found for digital downloading. The overall sound quality has been greatly improved. Soooo, if you have become a fan in the last few years, maybe you should check out where I started.

Fogland has also been remastered for the digital world. We had to "uncover" the hidden track, Hidden in the Fog, for digital logistical reasons. Since we had to resequence the CD, we decided to remaster it while we were at it. So now, there are 13 separate tracks instead of 12 with a hidden track at the end of the twelfth track.
